New day, New year, new me

I have been reading the "Left Behind" series and it has really been making me think. I have been looking at myself and asking "Am I doing all I can do as a christian to spread the gospel?" That is what is more important than anything. The bible does say that Jesus IS coming back and in reading this series even though it is fiction I have to wonder how ready am I. I fall so very short everyday and I really need to take a look at what I am doing as a chritian to benefit others. I have such an opportunity in the work I do to make a difference. Do I treat people as the bible says I should? Uh...no. Do I read the bible like I should or do I let the daily things get in the way? Do I pray like I should or am I always in such a rush that I dont give God that time HE deserves? This is a reality check fo me. I dont want to be that person who goes to church on Sunday but acts like the rest of the world through the week. And the bottom line is...I fall very short every single day. I allow other things in my life to come before GOD. Yesterday I started a network called share4christ.ning.com. I started it because I want christians to come together and be able to use it to help others learn more about the bible. It will be an accountability for me. But I would also hope that it can help minister to non-christians as well. It can also be a great tool for prayer requests. I want to do more for God...HE has brought me from a mighty long way. There is so much work to be done for the cause of Christ and I want to be a part of it. Well, until I write again...be blessed

Cant stop my brain....

Well.. I am so glad that I was able to sleep last night. Normally I have such a hard time sleeping being my brain just doesnt stop. All I have been able to think about is the different ideas that I have for the nail salon I want to open. I need to start writing my ideas down so I dont forget them. I really want to have an atmosphere that is calming and relaxing. I want to have something different. I want a nail salon that is pampering yet affordable. I want to make sure everyone who comes has quality service with quality products. This is my passion. I am getting ready to write out my business plan in order to get a grant so I can open my own shop. This is such a long process and I have to stay patient and just beleive that God will provide at just the right time. It is hard to be patient because I want it now. Its already falling into place so I am trusting God for the process. I will keep on writing and keep an update on how things are going...be blessed

HISTORY IN THE MAKING

I am very excited about today. Our very first black president will be sworn in today. It is truly a day of history. I will have my laptop at work (as usual) and I will be watching it on CNN.com. I am looking forwaard to change in this country. Living in the south the last 10 years has made me realize just how much prejiduce there really is. I am originally from Miami and really had a culture shock when I moved here. I am so used to all races coming together and getting along. The seperation of the races here saddens me. The black on black crime here saddens me. God made each of us and there is no race better than the other. There are people who are bad but that is in every race. Why must people be judged based on color? This hurts me deeply...I often wonder how this makes God feel. Well, I'm going to go for now and will write more tomorrow....be blessed

Well, this is a better day than yesterday. I took my second midterm last night and I think I did really good but I wont know my grade until next week. I am excited about doing this blog because writing has always been such an outlet for me. I feel that I can share what I feel without having to keep things bottled up.
I guess right now one of the biggest things going on in my life is my church. I was very upset about our pastor resigning. I have a lot of feelings about this and I really need toget them out. I was hurt at first and then angry but now I dont know how I feel. I feel like he has abandoned us at a very crucial time. He has a gift that God has given him but he is bailing on us. Period, end of story. I have to believe that maybe God is moving him out in order to get the right pastor in who will get the job done that needs to be done. I know a lot of people really love out pastor and they are so hurt. I am just happy that they are not taking our childrens pastor. I guess the reason I am so angry about this is because not too long ago when our church aquired a second campus he promised us that he wasnt leaving. But now he is even taking the other Pastor with him!!!! So now we have 2 campus' and neither one has a pastor. The church he is going to has 3 services every Sunday and 3000 members but he claims that they have financial problems...sorry I am not buying it....I guess I have to wonder what the real reason is that he is leaving. My gut tells me there is more to this than he is telling. But one thing I do know is that it will all come out eventually. My prayer now is that our new pastor will have a true heart and a true compassion for lost souls. Our church is very unique because it is very diverse and my prayer is that it becomes even more diverse.
Well, I guess I have vented enough for now.....

Getting started

Today I am feeling kinda sick again. Been having some stomach problems and it is really starting to concern me because I cant eat or really drink too much. I am beleiving that God will take care of me. I just wanted to get this blog set up and I will write more soon....
